Josef Salvat (Supporting BANKS)

Following the release of his ‘In Your Prime‘ EP which features a haunting rendition of Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds‘ and selling out London’s Courtyard Theatre a few months ago, it came as no surprise to hear that Aussie singer-songwriter Josef Salvat was announced as the opening act for Banks’ UK tour.

Having been recognized by top music publications such as The Fader, Pitchfork and even Billboard, Salvat’s tempestuous hype was very much reflected in that of his live performance. His blend of warm powerful vocals and delicate undertones have drawn comparisons to a male Lana Del Rey, but are by no means a depiction of him as an artist. The energy and passion he put into his performance reminded us of a mix between Leon Else and FKA Twig’s, but he made it clear he was enjoying every moment of being on that stage, especially opening for a truly remarkable artist such as Banks. Give this guy some time, and he’ll be stealing hearts worldwide. We’re looking forward to more from Josef.
